Beyond security courses, I discovered the exhilarating prospect of imparting knowledge in areas such as health and safety and first aid. Join me in embracing this enriching path where teaching extends far beyond the expected.'

While becoming a Security Officer instructor may have limited course options, starting with teaching Door Supervision provides an excellent entry point. The inclusion of bolt-on courses typically associated with Door Supervision and Close Protection courses opens up opportunities to expand your teaching repertoire. Consider branching into instructing first aid and health and safety courses, as your extensive experience likely qualifies you to teach these essential subjects. This strategic move not only broadens your instructional scope but also enhances your overall impact as a versatile and valuable educator in the security industry.
In order to qualify as an instructor, a minimum of two years of frontline experience within the past five years is required. However, if your goal is to teach Close Protection (CP), a more specialised area, a minimum of three years of experience within the past ten years is necessary. These experience requirements ensure that instructors bring recent and relevant practical knowledge to their teaching roles, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the instruction provided to aspiring professionals in the field.
To qualify as an instructor, it is imperative to attain at least the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) and the Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (UPPA). Additionally, we highly recommend pursuing the Level 4 Award in Understanding IQA (Internal Quality Assurance), as this qualification not only enhances your expertise but also opens doors to additional opportunities and responsibilities within the field. Investing in these certifications ensures that you are well-equipped to deliver effective and high-quality instruction, contributing to the development and success of your students.
Our teaching and assessing qualifications are officially recognised by Ofqual and the SIA, positioning you as a certified security instructor not only nationally within the UK but also internationally. The comprehensive nature of these qualifications extends beyond the realm of security, enabling you to teach and assess in various industries. This bundle, requiring two to three weeks of dedicated learning, serves as a swift and effective pathway to equipping yourself with the skills and certifications necessary to make a meaningful impact in the field of instruction and assessment.
