SIA Security Courses

The Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry is a 4-day  vocationally-based qualification and offers learners the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to work as a Security Officer. Following completion of this course, you can apply for an SIA Licence and work in the following roles:

Construction security
Retail security
Factory security
Warehouse security
Office building security

Please note you must hold a valid First Aid qualification to attend this course. If you do not hold a first aid qualification with more than 12 months remaining, you can attend our 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before the course starts and receive a discount.

The Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) is required for Security Officers looking to continue to work as a Security Officer before their SIA licence expires. 

This is a 1-day course and is also ideal for those with the Door Supervisor SIA Licence whom no longer wish to work on the doors. 

Please note you must hold a valid First Aid qualification to attend this course. If you do not hold a first aid qualification with more than 12 months remaining, you can attend our 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before the course starts and receive a discount.

The Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry is a 6-day course and is the most suitable qualification to access a variety of jobs in many different sectors in security to include all sectors as a Security Officer but also work in venues where they need a premises licence such as working in a pub, bar, nightclub, hotel or any entertainment.

Following completion of this course, you can apply for an SIA Licence. This qualification is better for individuals for would like a variety of options in their career.

The Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (top-up) is required for Door Supervisors looking to continue to work as a Door Supervisor before their SIA licence expires. This is a 2-day course.

The Level 2 Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry is a 3-day course which fulfils the SIA requirements to obtain an SIA licence. This qualification is vocationally-based and offers learners the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to work as a CCTV Operator. Following completion of this course, you can apply for an SIA Licence and work in the following roles:

Control rooms
Events
Universities
Shopping centre
Local council
NHS

The Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry is an 18-day course which prepares learners to work in the Close Protection market in several areas of expertise including protecting celebrities and VIPs, high-net worth individuals, incorporating specialisms in maritime, aviation and hostile environment protection.
